Requires a 4mm punch inserted into one of the holes on the port cover. Then using an adjustable wrench to apply counter clockwise pressure.
B&T recommends the use of Schletek gun care solutions. First start by capping the end of the suppressor. Pour the solution into the suppressor until it’s just below the mounting system then let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Once the time is up pour some of the solution out then cap the other end and shake the can to dislodge the larger bits of carbon build up. Now pour the rest of the solution out and rinse it out with warm water until the water coming out is clear. Next dry the can by blowing compressed air into the suppressor.

Running subsonic rounds in the SD suppressors greatly increases the probability of a baffle strike. Only use supersonic ammo in the SD suppressors as the suppressors are designed to slow supersonic rounds to subsonic speeds.

On Aug. 5, 2026, a federal court in the Northern District of Texas ruled that the NFA’s
registration and approval requirements for suppressors exceed Congress’s constitutional authority now that the associated tax is zero. The court’s order took effect August 13, 2026.
The order protects the plaintiffs in the case, their members and their customers. B&T USA is a named plaintiff. This order applies to direct and dealer purchases, and all dealers qualify. Do not disrupt current items in transfer and this order does not impact previously purchased items. If you have submitted a Form 4, take no action, wait for it to return. If you have not yet submitted a Form 4, there is no need to submit one, simply go forward with the purchase.
There are two ways to purchase a suppressor without a Form 4. You can purchase from one of the plaintiff companies from any dealer or directly. Or, if you want to purchase a suppressor from a brand not related to the case as a plaintiff, you will need to join one of the organizations named in the case.
For a covered purchase, you complete an ATF Form 4473 and pass a background check, then take the item home the same day, exactly as you would with a rifle or shotgun in accordance with your state laws. There is no Form 4, no fingerprint card, no photograph and no waiting on federal approval.
If you have submitted a Form 4 already, do not disrupt the process. Simply wait for it to return as normal.
Not necessarily. Several states ban or restrict suppressors under state law, and this ruling does not touch those laws. If your state prohibits an item, it remains prohibited. Check your state law or consult a local attorney before purchasing.
Nothing changes. Machine guns and destructive devices still carry a federal tax and remain fully regulated. This case covered only the categories whose tax Congress eliminated.
Yes. The federal government can appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and may ask that court to pause the injunction while the appeal proceeds. If a stay is granted, the registration requirements would return, and B&T USA will announce it. Because the case remains active, customers should confirm the current status and their own state’s law with a qualified attorney before purchasing.
