The Sub Compact Weapon Award

B&T is honored to announce that on March 29th, 2019, the United States Army selected B&T USA’s APC9K as its new Sub Compact Weapon (SCW).

The APC9K PRO is the natural evolution of the APC9 platform developed in 2011, featuring functional updates to include dual auto-folding, non-reciprocating and ambidextrous charging handles, improved lower receiver ergonomics that include a side positioned bolt hold open/release, removable M4 compatible grip, and Magpul M-Lok accessory slots located on the forend. Additionally, the APC9K can be equipped to accommodate Glock 9mm magazines, SIG P320 magazines or proprietary B&T magazines, by simply switching the non-serialized lower receiver group.

B&T's mission is to provide the professional with complete, mission-configurable, technologically advanced weapon systems that perform, without fail, under the most demanding conditions. The APC9K accomplishes this in spades. At less than 15-inches in overall length, the AP9K is an incredibly concealable platform optimized for low visibility carriage, and discreet deployment, while delivering unsurpassed accuracy, controllability, and ergonomics.

Deployment

Many anticipate the APC9K will be issued to, and employed by, Personal Security Details (PSD) personnel tasked with protecting senior United States Army leaders, and other principles traveling to less secure areas. An operational need was identified for a highly concealable sub compact weapon system capable of engaging threat personnel with a high volume of lethal and accurate fire at close ranges, with minimal collateral damage – a compact submachine gun fills this niche. The APC9K was procured to fill this capability gap in lethality and concealability; essentially bridging the gap between pistol and rifle. The APC9K is expected to be used frequently in and around vehicles, and within confined spaces.

Accessories

In addition to the APC9K platform, some other accessories delivered to the US Army are additional magazines, cleaning kits, spare parts, slings, carrying cases and manuals, as per their requirements.

Update

Since the US Army’s adoption of the APC9K SCW, the United States Air Force has also purchased quantities of the platform. Since that time, a number of United States Government entities, many falling beneath the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), have also purchased SCW variants for their uses.
